Grand Deluxe Cusco & Machu Picchu
by Belmond

◉ 5 Days · 4 Nights ▲ Cusco, Sacred Valley & Citadel ★ Belmond Collection ✦ Private Tour

Overview

Our flagship five-day journey brings together the three most celebrated hotels in Peru — all under the Belmond banner, part of LVMH. You will stay exclusively at Belmond Hotel Monasterio (a 16th-century monastery in Cusco with oxygen-enriched rooms), Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado (a riverside retreat in the Sacred Valley) and — most remarkably — Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel located directly at the gates of Machu Picchu.

This is the pinnacle of what luxury means in the Andean world: private guiding, Vistadome service, and the incomparable privilege of watching Machu Picchu at dawn and dusk from inside the archaeological reserve itself — an experience no other property on earth can offer.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Cusco · Belmond Monasterio

Private arrival at Cusco's Velasco Astete Airport and transfer directly to Belmond Hotel Monasterio, a former 16th-century seminary converted into one of Peru's most historic luxury hotels. Oxygen-enriched rooms ease altitude adjustment. Afternoon at leisure in the hotel's gilded chapel, colonial courtyards and the acclaimed Tupay Restaurant.

Overnight: Belmond Hotel Monasterio
Day 02

Cusco City Tour · Sacred Valley Arrival

Morning private Cusco City Tour — Cathedral, Qoricancha, Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. Gourmet lunch. Afternoon transfer to the Sacred Valley and welcome at Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado, a collection of private villas along the Urubamba River with panoramic views of snow-capped peaks.

Overnight: Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado · Meals: Breakfast & lunch
Day 03

Sacred Valley · Moray, Maras & Ollantaytambo

A full private day through the valley — the circular agricultural laboratory of Moray, the astonishing Salineras de Maras, and the colossal Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo. Gourmet lunch on the estate of a Sacred Valley restaurant. Evening return to Rio Sagrado for dinner by the river.

Overnight: Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado · Meals: Breakfast & lunch
Day 04

Machu Picchu · Belmond Sanctuary Lodge

Morning Vistadome train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (or upgrade to the legendary Belmond Hiram Bingham — enquire). Transfer directly to Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel at the citadel's gates. Private guided 2.5-hour visit to the citadel with your scholar-level guide. Return to the lodge for a sunset visit if open — the sanctuary emptied of day-visitors is a privilege few ever experience.

Overnight: Belmond Sanctuary Lodge · Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner (full-board at Sanctuary Lodge)
Day 05

Machu Picchu at Dawn · Return to Cusco · Farewell

Optional second visit at dawn — the sanctuary at first light is one of the most extraordinary sights on earth, accessible from the Sanctuary Lodge before any other visitors arrive. Brunch at the lodge, Vistadome train return to Cusco, and transfer to the airport at your preferred time. Until we meet again.
